Preferred attributes
  • Trained and qualified teacher, with current NZ Teacher Registration
  • Experience in working with young people
  • Experience in NCEA qualifications in junior metalwork for a special project with challenging students
  • Experience in working with Māori and Pasifika Young people
  • Knowledge of and understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to motivate teachers to motivate and enthuse young people to learn
  • Ability and willing to contribute to the wider life of the school outside the classroom
  • The ability to complete other tasks as included in the job description
  • Knowledge of the Tokoroa community and a belief in the potential of the young people at Tokoroa High School
  • Able to be actively involved in extra-curricular activity.
