Job summary

BestStart West Village in Rolleston invites an enthusiastic teacher in training to join our supportive team. The role is permanent, full-time (40 hours/week) with Monday–Friday work for tamariki aged over 3 years, focusing on rich, play-based learning experiences.

We offer paid study support, mentoring, and opportunities for career progression. Located at 131 Northmoor Boulevard, Rolleston.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in Level 7 ECE qualification (Bachelor of Teaching ECE or Graduate Diploma in ECE).
• Understanding of child-led learning and supporting children's development.
• Knowledge of Te Whāriki and ECE regulations.
• Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice.
• Passion for delivering high-quality education and care.

Responsibilities

• Support a preschool team with rich play-based learning experiences.
• Contribute to learning spaces that build confidence, creativity, independence and social skills.
• Collaborate with teachers and learners in a tertiary-priority environment.
