A regional health educational institution is seeking an adaptable and motivated teacher for a part-time role in Hawke's Bay. The successful candidate will work with students unable to attend regular school due to health issues and will be required to travel for home visits and meetings. This position requires previous teaching experience and a current NZ teacher registration. The role starts on January 28, 2026 and ends on December 10, 2026.

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Health school teacher. Subjects include English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts.

Seeking an adaptable, empathetic and motivated teacher for a rewarding role working with students who have been away from school due to their health conditions.
CRHS staff work with students with physical and mental health conditions that are preventing them from attending school on a regular basis. We aim to help students maintain their educational programmes, and transition back to school or to a tertiary provider.
The role involves working with students one-on-one, adapting the New Zealand Curriculum, to suit the individual’s learning and health needs. Writing, implementing and evaluating individual student programmes across a wide range of levels and subjects to support the diverse educational needs of our students is required.
The HB CRHS teaching team is based in Hastings at Stortford Lodge. Daily travel to students’ homes, local schools, health settings and other venues around the Hawke’s Bay region is a key component of the job with a focus on the Central Hawke’s Bay area to Dannevirke.
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled teacher with proven experience, teaching in both the primary and secondary sectors. This role also involves running meetings, close liaison with families, schools, health specialists and agencies.
Applicants must be experienced NZ registered teachers with a current practising certificate.
A current full, clean NZ driver licence is required. A private vehicle is required for work travel.
