Job summary

Kingslea School in Canterbury, New Zealand, invites applications for a full-time fixed-term teaching position from September 2026 to December 2027 to cover parental leave. The role spans Secondary (Years 7–15) and wharekura with a broad subject remit and a 40-week study award through 2027.

The campus collaborates with Oranga Tamariki, Canterbury DHB, MOE, and community partners to support ākonga. The successful applicant will join a warm, multi-agency team at Arahina campus, bringing commitment

Qualifications

• Must hold a certificated teaching credential.
• Experience teaching across English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction across secondary years 7–15 and wharekura.
• Cover maternity leave from Sept 2026 to end of 2027.
• Engage in planning, assessment and student support within a multi-agency network.

We are seeking an enthusiastic educator to join our team in a fixed-term capacity from September 2026 through to the end of the 2027 school year.

This position is covering a colleague on parental leave (Terms 3 and 4 2026) followed by a 40-week Study Award throughout 2027.

We are a unique Kingslea School campus that utilises a multi-agency approach to support the ākonga at our kura, engage and continue with education. We have been established in partnership with: Oranga Tamariki, Canterbury District Health Board, Ministry of Education, Police Youth Services, Te Ngāi Tūāhuriri (Ngai Tahu).

Arahina is a small campus with qualified expert staff who offer a warm, welcoming and supportive learning environment for ākonga.
