Are you passionate about supporting whānau Māori to thrive? Te Piki Oranga is looking for a Kaupapa Māori Counsellor to join our Toitu Te Ora team. This is your chance to walk alongside whānau, offering guidance, advocacy, and culturally grounded support that makes a lasting difference.

About the Role | Mō te tūranga mahi

The key focus of this role is to provide AoD counselling services to whānau and holistic support, drawing on Māori models of hauora. You’ll collaborate with whānau, community groups, iwi, and agencies to nurture wellbeing and empower positive change. Every day brings new opportunities to strengthen connections and help whānau realise their aspirations.

Key Responsibilities | Ngā kawenga matua
  • Deliver mana-enhancing counselling and support for whānau
  • Complete assessments, risk screenings, and co-create intervention plans
  • Share health knowledge and promote wellbeing in the community
  • Build and sustain relationships with whānau, iwi, and partner organisations
  • Maintain accurate records and uphold privacy
  • Engage in outreach, advocacy, and ongoing professional growth
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and culturally rich environment
