Job summary

Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, a kaupapa Māori tertiary educator, seeks an Advisor – Tauira Support at Apakura Campus in Te Awamutu, with travel to Te Kuiti, Tokoroa and Hamilton. This permanent, full-time role covers 37.5 hours per week and includes a competitive NZD salary.

You will deliver professional support to tauira, ensure NZQA and TWoA audit readiness, respond to complaints with strict confidentiality, and run regional tauira workshops.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Education, Psychology or Sociology or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in an education or social services type role.
• Proficiency in Te Reo Māori is essential for supporting higher level classes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with tauira, kaimahi and stakeholders.
• Full NZ Drivers Licence (Class 1).

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, high-quality professional support to tauira.
• Ensure all files meet NZQA and TWoA standards for audits.
• Respond to tauira complaints promptly, maintaining confidentiality.
• Maintain an up-to-date portfolio of external services and contracts for tauira access.
• Deliver a minimum of two support workshops per academic year for tauira awareness.
