Overview

Tasting Room and Cellar Door Host - Clos Henri Vineyard, Marlborough, New Zealand

Duration of Position: Full-Time, Fixed Term Position

Clos Henri Vineyard is a French family-owned organic wine estate situated in the Wairau Valley of Marlborough, New Zealand. We are seeking to recruit wine and hospitality superstars for a 6-day Tasting Room operation over the summer (October 2025 to May 2026).

You will be based at our beautiful Tasting Room in Marlborough, just 20 minutes from Blenheim town centre. As we are a small team, the role will be diverse; we are looking for someone who would be interested in assisting in the winery and/or vineyard on occasion, but overall, you will be responsible for managing our premium Tasting Room experience in line with the Clos Henri brand, including managing all wine tastings, events and ensuring an exceptional level of service at all times.

Responsibilities

During your management of the Clos Henri Tasting Room, consistent with the Clos Henri brand, you will be responsible for:

  • Welcoming all visitors to the Tasting Room for wine tastings and share the Clos Henri story
  • Ensuring the maintenance, stock levels, payment handling and smooth running of the Tasting Room
  • Participating in the evolution of the Tasting Room image
  • Managing bookings
  • Planning and running Clos Henri events with the Sales and Marketing Manager
  • Maintaining and building relationships with regular clientele, while ensuring a premium tasting experience for all customers
  • Adhering to all legislative requirements under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act and enforcing them where necessary
  • General sales and marketing tasks when required, and from time to time assisting with sales and marketing projects
Qualifications

Experience required (advantageous but for the right candidate not essential)

  • Previous tasting room, wine sales or similar experience
  • LCQ or Manager’s Licence
  • Practical knowledge of the Microsoft Package, including Excel, Outlook, Word and Microsoft Teams
