Job description

At Halter, we're on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a group of cattle walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing grazing with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you'll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We're committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn't easy, and in truth, we love that it's hard.

We're backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab's Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures.

About the Role

Great companies are built by great people, and that's where you come in.

As a key member of the Talent team, you'll play a hands‑on role in attracting, sourcing, and hiring world‑class talent to support our business as we scale globally. You'll work closely with hiring managers to understand their team needs, anticipate upcoming roles, and manage end‑to‑end recruitment processes that bring exceptional people into Halter who align with our mission and values.

Reporting to the Talent Lead, General & Admin, you'll own recruitment across our General & Admin portfolio, spanning Finance, Legal, People, Talent, Commercial Strategy, Marketing, and Executive Operations. You'll partner with leaders across these critical business functions, managing varied and often specialised hiring needs while building strong pipelines for current and future roles.

You'll develop and execute tailored recruitment strategies, provide trusted advice to hiring managers, and deliver a world‑class candidate experience that reflects the calibre of our product, team, and culture. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys learning about different areas of a business, can confidently navigate a diverse portfolio, and thrives on building trusted relationships with stakeholders.

If you’re curious, commercially minded, energised by variety, and love the thrill of finding exactly the right person, you’ll feel at home here.

What Your Day Will Look Like
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment across our General & Admin functions, from sourcing and screening through to coordinating interviews, assessments, and offer processes.
  • Develop tailored sourcing and recruitment strategies for a diverse portfolio of roles, including specialist and leadership positions.
  • Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines for current and future hiring needs, proactively identifying talent through multiple channels.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers and leaders to understand role requirements, team goals, organisational context, and the capabilities needed for success.
  • Provide trusted, data-informed guidance throughout the hiring process, helping managers make confident and effective decisions.
  • Help hiring teams run smooth, effective, and inclusive recruitment processes.
  • Deliver an exceptional and consistent candidate experience at every stage, reflecting Halter's culture and values.
  • Ensure every communication and interaction contributes positively to our employer brand.
  • Maintain our ATS and recruitment workflows, ensuring hiring activity is accurate, efficient, and well organised.
  • Track and share key metrics, including time-to-fill, pipeline health, source effectiveness, and candidate feedback, to continuously improve our approach.
  • Support broader initiatives across internal mobility, diversity, talent planning, and employer branding.
  • Identify opportunities to improve our recruitment processes, tools, and ways of working as we scale.
  • We're a fast-moving growth company, so from time to time, other responsibilities will pop up—and you'll be part of making it all happen!
Who Are We Looking For?
  • Experience in talent acquisition, ideally within a high-growth or global technology environment.
  • A proven track record of delivering high-quality hires across varied levels, functions, and regions.
  • Strong experience developing tailored sourcing strategies and proactively identifying specialist talent.
  • A strategic business partner who can zoom in and out—from workforce planning and leadership reporting to hands‑on sourcing and day‑to‑day hiring delivery.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to advise, influence, and constructively challenge hiring teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing a varied portfolio of roles in a fast‑paced environment without compromising the quality of talent or candidate experience.
  • Deep knowledge of sourcing techniques, tools, and channels, with a strong understanding of what it takes to identify and engage exceptional talent globally.
  • Strong reporting and data skills, with the ability to track, analyse, and clearly communicate key hiring metrics and insights.
  • Familiarity with employment law, immigration requirements, and compliance in New Zealand—and ideally Australia.
  • High emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and take strong ownership and accountability.
  • Delicious snacks and drinks are available for your daily flow.
  • Healthy body, healthy mind. We're partnered with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support your well-being.
  • We offer 6 months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks of fully paid secondary caregiver leave and many other parental benefits that support you and your family.
  • Our personal growth is important. Halter offers an annual $1000 self‑development budget to be used for anything that fuels personal growth.
  • Our time to recharge is valued, we're offered wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
  • Importantly, we offer an inclusive and attractive remuneration package made up of salary, benefits and an employee stock ownership plan.
