Job description

Jora New Zealand will close on 9th September 2026. Thank you for being with us, we are cheering you on as you continue your career journey.

At Halter, we're on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a group of cattle walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing grazing with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you'll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We're committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn't easy, and in truth, we love that it's hard.

We're backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab's Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures.

As our Compensation & Benefits Partner, you'll play a critical role in ensuring Halter's reward programs are accurate, competitive, and exceptionally well run. You'll help own the day-to-day mechanics of remuneration and benefits including job sizing, benchmarking, remuneration reviews, pay equity and benefits administration and be a trusted point of reference for People Managers and the People & Performance team.

This is a role for an exceptional operator, someone who can take existing strategy and principles and translate them into high-quality, scalable execution. You'll take ownership of key reward processes end-to-end, use data and market insight to work through ambiguity, and be relied on to get the details right without needing a playbook for every situation.

You'll be joining at a stage where our reward practices are continuing to evolve as Halter grows globally. You'll help turn that evolution into practical processes, tools and ways of working that make it easier for our teams to make great reward decisions consistently and at pace.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Halter's remuneration review, ensuring high-quality execution from market data through to final outcomes and communications.
  • Deliver job sizing and benchmarking, and maintain compensation structures and tools to ensure they remain accurate, practical and scalable.
  • Work alongside P&P team members and People Managers to provide clear, practical advice on remuneration and pay decisions.
  • Deliver pay equity analysis and reporting, identifying insights and opportunities to improve our approach.
  • Support the delivery and ongoing evolution of Halter's benefits programs across our global markets.
  • Manage compensation surveys, market data and vendor relationships to keep our programs current and evidence-based.
  • Build compensation capability across P&P and People Managers through simple tools, guidance and repeatable processes.
We're Looking For Someone Who
  • Has strong experience in remuneration and benefits, with a track record of owning reward processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Has hands-on experience in job sizing, benchmarking and remuneration reviews.
  • Has proven ability to take strategic direction and translate it into high-quality execution.
  • Has strong analytical skills, using data and market insight to make sound, well-reasoned recommendations.
  • Is an exceptional operator with strong attention to detail who can independently drive work through to completion.
  • Has strong judgement and the ability to work through ambiguity without needing a playbook.
  • Builds credibility quickly and communicates clearly and confidently with stakeholders.
  • Delicious snacks and drinks are available for your daily flow.
  • Healthy body, healthy mind. We're partnered with Southern Cross Health Insurance to support your well-being.
  • We offer 6 months of fully paid parental leave for primary caregivers, 4 weeks of fully paid secondary caregiver leave and many other parental benefits that support you and your family.
  • Our personal growth is important. Halter offers an annual $1000 self-development budget to be used for anything that fuels personal growth.
  • Our time to recharge is valued, we're offered wellness leave and unlimited paid annual leave.
  • Importantly, we offer an inclusive and attractive remuneration package made up of salary, benefits and an employee stock ownership plan.
Our Office First Approach

Humans are wired for connection. Being office first is a core pillar of our culture because in-person connections drive your growth, learning, impact, and relationships. Strong relationships make it easier to disagree, give feedback, and do meaningful work together.

We're office first, not office only. Working from the office is our default, but we flex when needed. We have a high-trust culture where everyone is trusted to do what's best for Halter.

Our office vibe is special, the high energy and spectacular people make work enjoyable. Your growth and impact are unlimited here, coming from solving problems, innovating, and constantly learning from each other.

Join Our Team

Halter is committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace - a place where we can each be ourselves and do the best work of our lives.
