Job description

We’re partnering with a major public-sector organisation to appoint a senior architecture leader who can influence major technology programmes and drive value through innovation, scalability, and delivery excellence.

In this leadership role, you’ll define and maintain the technical vision and architectural runway across a multi-team Agile Release Train (ART). You’ll act as the bridge between business priorities and technical delivery, collaborating closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and fellow Architects to ensure that solutions align with broader strategic goals. From leading the prioritisation of technical debt and innovation initiatives to supporting Agile events like PI Planning and System Demos, you’ll be central to ensuring delivery is both technically sound and future-proofed.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • A degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in systems architecture within large-scale or complex environments
  • Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies (SAFe preferred)
  • A proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills
This is an opportunity to work at the strategic heart of one of Aotearoa’s most influential organisations, helping shape the systems that serve a growing and diverse population.
