  • Ensure computer applications are updated and functioning optimally.
  • Maintain compliance with AS 5369:2023 standards.

Job description

Role is located in the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) at Counties Manukau District, Northern Region of Health New Zealand. The role is a permanent fulltime position.
To be part of a unit that plays a crucial role in supporting the hospital’s theatres, wards and clinics.

About the Role

As a CSSD Systems & Applications Coordinator you will be responsible for the day to day maintenance and operation of the T-Doc Tracking System; the NuTrace marking system & the Trophon2 / Audit Pro System. This role is also responsible for ensuring that all computer applications and information is current, functioning appropriately and to an optimum level.

About the Team/Service/ Location

Our team of 58 staff members are employed to work at both Middlemore Hospital (MMH) and Manukau Health Park (MHP). CSSD operates 24/7 at MMH and at MHP the unit is open Monday to Friday from 0700hrs through to 2300hrs. We reprocess reusable medical devices or RMDs used in all operating theatres, Clinics, Modules and various other patient areas within the organisation. You will be part of a strong team of individuals who will assist you and support you through your journey of learning.

About you

As the CSSD Systems and Applications Coordinator, your strengths will include IT experience in the health sector, you will be proficient in data gathering and its interpretation and use of MS Excel; and the use of T-Doc or another similar instrument tracking system. Project management skills, MS access expertise and proficient in MS application; MS Word, MS Outlook etc and have a strong commitment and genuine interest in quality improvement and service development will be an advantage for this role.

Assisting CSSD in compliance with the standard AS 5369: 2023 Reprocessing of reusable medical devices and other devices in health and non-health related facilities is a mandatory requirement.

Qualifications we are looking for include the following:

  • Qualified to Level 5 Diploma in Sterilising Technology Course Certificate through Toi Ohomai or committed to work towards achieving this
  • IT Qualifications

Membership of the New Zealand Sterile Sciences Association (NZSSA)
Registered through the New Zealand Sterile Sciences Association
