Products and systems can be found in many industries - food, dairy, poultry, beverage, seafood, baking, meat, chemical, pharmaceutical, timber, energy, paper, mining, quarry and steel.

The Opportunity:

This is a great opportunity to step into a newly created role requiring a technical aptitude and the ability to communicate with industrial end-user customers in the manufacturing sector.

Spraying Systems NZ Limited are an engineering company specialising in leading technology for spraying systems mainly across the food industry, but also to the chemical, pharmaceutical, timber, energy, paper, mining, quarry and steel industries. Due to the growth of the company they are now looking for someone to join their excellent team as an Systems and Sales Engineer. This role will require an engineering background and a natural affinity for sales.



What the position will involve:

On the sales side you will identify, research and contact existing and prospective customers; build positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business. You will work with the sales team to develop long-term sales plans and monitor and adapt sales activities to ensure objectives and targets are met. Technically you will:

  • Be involved with the hands-on specification and design of automated spraying systems.
  • You will solve customer spray automation problems and identify market opportunities.
  • Provide internal and external technical support.
  • Diagnose industrial process equipment on-site, analyse customer control systems and make appropriate integration decisions.
  • Generate technically accurate quotes and proposals.
  • Specify, commission and inspect spray technology and fluid handling systems in the region.
  • Train customers, colleagues and partner suppliers on new spray system technologies.
  • Build test installations and organise technical demonstrations or trials.

Who are we looking for?

To us a standout candidate will be passionate about this sector and be enthusiastic about driving sales. You will have an Engineering or technical degree (electro-mechanical by preference, or similar by experience), with a minimum of 3-5 years, hands-on, field experience with industrial fluid process equipment, (i.e. nozzles, hydraulics, pneumatics, valves, pumps, sensors, tanks, piping, mixing, coating, conveying, blending, cleaning, industrial automation technologies, etc.).

You will need to:

  • Have knowledge and a strong background in: Industrial automation equipment and electronic control equipment (PLC’s), and hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components and systems for industrial fluid handling.
  • Be capable in the use of AutoCAD or similar drawing package.
  • Possess computer skills at a level to effectively execute presentations and correspondence – minimum skills required include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Be able to read and understand full electrical drawings.

Regular travel will be required throughout the South Island with a few days away each month.
