Job summary

HEB Construction invites an experienced Environmental Manager to lead sustainability and environmental performance on the Waitohi Ferry Redevelopment Project in Picton, NZ. Reporting to the Project Director, you will drive compliance, risk management and environmental excellence across all phases of delivery.

You will build strong relationships with regulators, iwi and stakeholders, coordinate ecological programmes and mentor a team of environmental professionals to deliver positive outcomes for

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental management within construction, infrastructure or a similar industry.
• Proven success managing consent compliance and environmental risk.
• Experience leading teams and coordinating specialist consultants and contractors.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to influence project teams and drive positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Leading environmental management and compliance across the project.
• Driving implementation and continuous improvement of environmental management systems.
• Managing consent obligations, environmental monitoring, audits and reporting.
• Building strong relationships with clients, regulators, iwi, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Coordinating ecological and specialist environmental programmes.
• Leading environmental incident investigations and risk management activities.
• Driving sustainability initiatives and environmental best practice across project operations.
• Mentoring and developing a team of environmental professionals and specialists.

Education

A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Planning, Ecology or a related discipline
