Job summary

VINCI Construction seeks an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental and sustainability performance across the Waitohi Ferry Redevelopment Project in Picton, a landmark marine infrastructure programme delivering a new ferry wharf, linkspan, and terminal upgrades.

Reporting to the Project Director, you will drive compliance, environmental excellence and practical leadership throughout delivery, coordinating with regulators, iwi, consultants and contractors.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Planning, Ecology or related discipline.
• Strong experience in environmental management within construction or infrastructure.
• Proven ability to manage consent compliance and environmental risk.
• Experience leading teams and coordinating consultants.

Help shape one of New Zealand's most significant marine infrastructure projects. HEB is delivering the Waitohi Ferry Redevelopment Project in Picton, a landmark project that will support the next generation of rail-enabled Cook Strait ferries. This complex marine infrastructure programme includes the construction of a new ferry wharf, installation of a new linkspan, and major terminal interface upgrades, helping strengthen one of New Zealand's most important transport connections between the North and South Islands. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to lead environmental and sustainability performance across this high-profile project. Reporting to the Project Director, you will provide strategic and practical environmental leadership, ensuring compliance, environmental excellence and sustainable outcomes across all stages of delivery. This is a fixed term role until 2029.
