Job summary

Health New Zealand's Dunedin Hospital is seeking a Health Care Assistant for the General Surgical Ward 3. This 0.8 FTE role (64 hours per fortnight) offers a salary band of $60,000-$70,000 p.a prorata plus Kiwisaver, with shift rotations including nights and weekends.

The successful candidate will assist with patient care under a registered nurse, support the healthcare team, restock equipment, perform clerical duties, and help maintain a safe, clean department environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold working rights in New Zealand.
• Well organised, with a positive 'can do' attitude and clear communication.
• Must be able to take direction from a variety of staff.
• Experience working in a health setting is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Patient watch/ supervision and/or movement with one-on-one care.
• Restocking and setting up of equipment.
• General department housekeeping.
• Supporting our nurses and other members of the healthcare team.
• Clerical duties as required.
• Stock reconciliation.
