Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program (see substitution options below)
  • Current Surgical Technologist Certification required within one year of graduation or if employed as a surgical technologist in a surgical facility on or before July 1, 2013, or having completed military or U.S. Public Health Service training in surgical technology (per MA Senate Bill 2058, December 2012)
  • Graduates without certification have one year from graduation to obtain certification
Preferred Experience
  • At least 1 year experience as a Surgical Technologist in an Operating Room or Ambulatory Surgery setting
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
