IDEA Services is committed to empowering people with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling, meaningful lives—both in the comfort of their own homes and as active, valued members of their communities. As a Support Worker, you'll be providing overnight support to individuals with complex needs, ensuring their safety and wellbeing while promoting dignity and independence. This includes managing risk, responding to individual care plans, and offering compassionate, person-centred support throughout the night. Your presence will provide reassurance and continuity of care, helping each person feel secure and respected. The role involves 74.5 hours per fortnight and mainly awake night shifts from 9pm to 7am. The pay range is $23.84-$29.10 per hour depending on relevant qualifications.

What you will bring
  • Previous experience as a Support Worker is preferred, but a positive attitude and compassion are most important.
  • Flexibility to work rostered shifts.
  • A calm nature and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
  • Comfortable and proficient in using computers and tablets daily.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support.
  • A Full NZ driver's license
