Job summary

HealthCare NZ in Dunedin is seeking a Support Worker to help clients live independently at home and in the community. You will follow care plans and support clients to achieve their goals, with duties including meal prep, outings, medication assistance, personal care and home management.

The role offers a path for NZQA qualifications funded by the employer, with shift patterns Mon-Sun 7:30am–6:30pm and travel as needed. NZ driver’s license and reliable transport are required.

HealthCare NZ is a leading provider of in-home and community-based health, rehabilitation, nursing, mental health and disability support. We are currently seeking candidates in Dunedin who are available to work Monday to Sunday between 7.30am to 6.30pm and flexible to travel around.

What does a Support Worker do?

As part of a wider team, you will assist our clients to live as independently as possible, within their homes and community. You will help our clients to achieve their goals and reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support. Responsibilities can be varied and you will follow a care plan, which may include some or all of the below:

• Meal preparation
• Community outings and integration
• Giving medication
• Personal cares (showering, toileting etc)
• Home management
