Job summary

A community pool organization in Taranaki is seeking Seasonal Lifeguards for the summer season (November 2025 – March 2026). Candidates will monitor pool users, ensure safety, and create a fun environment. Training will be provided, and the role requires confidence in water and a first aid qualification. Flexible shifts are available, along with competitive pay of $28.95 per hour.

What you’ll do:

  • Keep a watchful eye on pool users and make sure everyone’s safe.
  • Be a friendly face and help create a great vibe at the pool.
  • Uphold health and safety standards - your mahi keeps our community safe!

What you’ll need:

  • Confidence in the water (you’ll need to swim 200m in under 6 minutes and tread water for 5 minutes).
  • A strong sense of responsibility and a positive attitude.
  • Flexibility to work at different locations and on weekends/public holidays.
  • Be at least 16 years old.
  • Comprehensive first aid qualification (You will need this prior to starting).

Our pools are open November 2025 – March 2026

This role is considered a children’s worker role and will be subject to safety checking under the Children’s Act 2014.
