Olivers Horticulture Limited in Paengaroa, Bay of Plenty, invites applicants for Summer Canopy Work from 12 October 2026 to mid-December. This casual/temporary role covers thinning, vine training, summer pruning, and canopy tasks across our kiwifruit orchards.
No experience is required as full training will be provided. You must be tall enough to reach overhead vines (at least 160 cm), reliable, and physically fit. Wage starts at $24.00 per hour with 8% holiday pay.

Olivers Horticulture is a family-owned and operated kiwifruit business based in Paengaroa, Bay of Plenty. We manage our family kiwiberry and red, gold and green kiwifruit orchards. We’re on the lookout for some extra team members to help with our summer work.Summer canopy work is a physically demanding job so we require people that are happy to put in hard work and deliver good quality! Your arms are above your head all day.

Start Date: 12th October 2026 – mid December.
Hours: 8:30am – 5pm, 5-6 days a week, work is weather dependent.
Starting rate: $24.00/ hour plus 8% holiday pay ($25.92)
Experience: No experience required; all training provided.
A valid working visa, NZ bank account and IRD number are required.
Must be reliable and physically fit.
You must be at least 160cm tall to reach the overhead vines
Short term accommodation options available - we have Van parking ($80 pp per week) and Rooms ($160/pp per week) available for the team which is nearby our orchards.
Transport - we require that you have your own
