About the Role
As a Suicide Prevention Postvention Coordinator you will play a pivotal role supporting an integrated approach to suicide prevention, intervention and postvention. No two days are the same as you build capacity and support hospital, specialty health services, and community organisations. An understanding of community development, strategic planning, clinical pathways and networks is desirable.
This is a fixed term, part-time role covering parental leave for up to 12 months. The working hours will be 40 per fortnight (0.5 FTE), Monday to Friday.
This position operates across Te Tauihu (Top of the South) and will require occasional travel. The location of the candidate can be negotiated but ideally would be positioned in Wairau.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Our team of two part-time coordinators are a well-integrated team working closely together to resource, support and educate Te Tau Ihu with the resources needed in this sensitive mahi.
Suicide prevention across the region is being addressed by many social agencies and community groups. They are all looking to impact New Zealand’s poor statistics around suicide. The primary purpose of this role is to provide leadership and coordinate these efforts to foster relationships, establish common approaches and standards.
