Job summary

You will liaise with academic staff and the College community, and help navigate assessments, extensions and enrolment changes.

You will build rapport with a diverse student body, coordinate support programs, and contribute to induction and events while maintaining privacy-compliant records and supporting wellbeing

Qualifications

  • Experience in pastoral care, student support, counselling, or training.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and administration skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general technology confidence.
  • Willingness to be available after hours for the pastoral care emergency phone line.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first contact for students needing academic support and guidance.
  • Guide students through extensions, missed assessments, absences, enrolment changes and deferrals.
  • Refer students to lecturer office hours, PASS sessions, tutoring, and library workshops.
  • Provide mental health and wellbeing pastoral care and respond to emergencies.
  • Manage the after-hours emergency phone service.
  • Build relationships with diverse learner groups and champion learner voice.
  • Coordinate student soft-skills programmes, clubs and counsellors.
  • Support orientation, induction and College events such as graduation.
  • Maintain privacy-compliant records of student interactions and participate in audits.
