Job summary

Aurecon Group in Wellington is offering a 12-week summer Internship Program for students in Civil/Environmental engineering and related fields. You will gain exposure to transport planning, data analysis, and advisory work while contributing to real projects under expert guidance.

You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams across Asia Pacific, participate in our Intern Learning Series, and explore pathways into our Graduate Program.

Qualifications

• Pursuing studies in Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Geography, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Interest in how people and goods move through cities and communities.
• Available for 12 weeks full-time from mid-November 2026 to February 2027 (with Christmas/New Year break).

We're looking for students studying Civil Engineering, Transport Planning, Geography, Environmental Engineering, Science, or another related discipline who are curious about how people and goods move through cities and communities. We have an opportunity available in our Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington office, in our Integrated Transport & Mobility team. You'll contribute to projects that help shape how people and goods move through cities and communities. Our work considers the transport system as a whole—from roads and public transport to walking and cycling—helping create safer, more connected and sustainable places. What you’ll bring

• Currently studying civil engineering, transport planning, environmental engineering, science, geography or another related discipline, and in your second-to-last year of study
• A genuine interest in how people and goods move through cities and communities and how transport systems can be planned, improved and connected
• Available for 12 weeks full-time work from mid-November 2026 to February 2027 (with a two-week break over Christmas and New Year)
• Curiosity, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset
