Job summary

St Paul’s College in Auckland invites an experienced Student Counsellor to provide welfare support and guidance to students in Years 7–13.

You will work with the Dean of Student Welfare, develop mentoring, manage caseloads, and liaise with families and external agencies, while maintaining confidential records.

A Counselling qualification with NZAC or NZCCA registration is required; experience with 12–18 year olds and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience accompanying, advocating and counselling young people aged 12-18 years old
  • Experience in risk assessment and using a range of therapeutic models
  • Commitment to holistic student care
  • Excellent communication (oral, written and listening) and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a Secondary School or a Teaching registration is an advantage, but is not essential
  • A commitment to our holistic model of Pastoral care and Special Catholic Character is essential
