Job summary

KiwiRail in Wellington seeks a diligent auditor/inspector to assess timber, concrete and steel structures, earthworks and retaining walls. You will diagnose faults, develop work plans, monitor progress and ensure adherence to safety and rail standards.

You’ll lead field teams, coordinate with Train Control, and contribute to incident response. Applicants should have construction health and safety experience, a suitable trade background, and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic rail

Qualifications

• Secondary schooling with Maths and English at NCEA Level 2 or equivalent.
• HT Class 2 License or eligible to obtain this licence.
• Carpentry or related trade certification.

Responsibilities

• Undertake audits and inspections of civil infrastructure assets including timber, concrete and steel structures, earthworks and walls.
• Diagnose faults, develop work plans, monitor progress and ensure safety and code compliance.
• Provide leadership and guidance to field staff and coordinate with rail operations for track possessions and incidents.
