Job summary

Inition is seeking multiple Structural Engineers to join our team in Christchurch, Wellington or Auckland. You will own structural analysis and design for diverse projects, including rides and testing rigs, applying NZ standards and producing clear calculation records.

You’ll work alongside mechanical engineers, designers and clients, decide approaches to undefined problems, and explain load paths plainly. We offer flexible hours, some remote work, health insurance, learning opportunities, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and NZ standards experience.
• A few years' post-graduate structural design on real projects.
• Analysis and design to NZ standards such as AS/NZS 1170, NZS 3404 and NZS 3101.
• Clear and well organised calculation records.
• Curiosity and comfort working through problems with no clear precedent.
• CPEng is beneficial, but not essential.
• Experience leading or mentoring others is nice to have but not required.

Responsibilities

• Own structural analysis and design for a work area, largely on your own, to a high standard.
• Work on structures you won’t find in a typical consultancy: rides and attractions, construction products, and the rigs that test them.
• Choose the right approach for problems that aren’t fully defined, and change course when something isn’t working.
• Check your own calculations before anyone else sees them.
• Work alongside mechanical engineers, designers, technicians and clients, and explain the load path plainly.
