Job summary

Engineering Design Consultants Ltd in Christchurch is seeking a structural engineer to take day-to-day design and documentation across steel, concrete, timber and masonry projects, working under the Structural Team Leader.

You will develop junior team members, manage client relationships and contribute to a varied project portfolio across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors while upholding NZ standards and first-principles engineering.

Qualifications

• Washington Accord-accredited structural engineering qualification.
• Practical design experience across steel, concrete, timber and masonry.
• Strong communication and client-relations abilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structural design, analysis and documentation across steel, concrete, timber and masonry projects.
• Prepare calculations, reports, tender documents and fee proposals to a high technical standard.
• Undertake site inspections, investigations and construction monitoring, using first principles.
• Coordinate projects and build strong relationships with clients, contractors, architects and teams.
• Support junior engineers and draughting staff, contributing to repeat business.
