Job summary

The Ministry for Primary Industries in Wellington is seeking a Manager, Stakeholder Engagement for a fixed-term, full-time appointment until June 2027. You will lead a small engagement team and shape the strategy across NZ Food Safety, engaging with industry, iwi, and partners to support a safe and thriving food economy.

This role offers the chance to design toolkits, visitor programmes for senior leaders and the Minister, and to collaborate with senior leadership and Deputy Director-General NZ

Qualifications

Experience in public relations, corporate communications, and leading engagement strategies.
Use your organisational and political nous to assess complexities within NZFS.
Advanced communication skills, written and verbal with the ability to communicate complex issues to a range of stakeholders and audiences.
Cooperative working style and strong relationship-building skills.
High level of organisational skills and ability to deliver on time.
Strategic outlook and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver an engagement strategy and annual work programme.
Lead an engagement team across New Zealand Food Safety.
Support staff to engage with a broad range of stakeholders and partners.
Collaborate with senior leaders and Deputy Director-General NZ Food Safety.
