Job summary

Westpac New Zealand in Tauranga seeks a commercially minded Relationship Associate to support Corporate Banking Relationship Managers with credit analysis and portfolio management. You will contribute to robust risk submissions and ongoing monitoring to safeguard the lending portfolio.

You will develop a deep understanding of customers, industries, and market conditions to deliver well-considered credit solutions while upholding Westpac's risk standards and customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Knowledge of banking products and the New Zealand market.
• Understanding of NZ's commercial environment and economic landscape.
• Strong financial analysis and credit assessment capability.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and credit risk.
• Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ownership of deliverables.
• Familiarity with legal and lending documentation will be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality credit analysis and portfolio management expertise.
• Support Relationship Managers with accurate credit submissions and risk reviews.
• Monitor risk triggers, covenants, and periodic reviews within policy timeframes.
• Contribute to credit decisioning that protects portfolio health and customer outcomes.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and deliver well-considered credit solutions.
