Job summary

Waste Management Pte Ltd – Dairy Flat, North Island, is seeking an experienced Senior Operational Leader to own a major, asset-intensive operation in Auckland. You will drive safety, performance, environmental stewardship and financial results while leading a ~35-person team and multiple contractors.

Close collaboration with engineering, health and safety, finance, and community teams will be essential to deliver exceptional community outcomes.

Qualifications

• This role will appeal to experienced leaders from industries such as infrastructure, utilities, manufacturing, mining, quarrying, ports, transport, logistics, aviation, defence, energy, construction, or other complex operational environments.
• We are looking for an accomplished leader with the ability to build high-performing teams, manage risk, engage stakeholders, and consistently deliver results.
• We will provide the industry-specific training and support needed to be successful.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills are essential.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead one of New Zealand's most complex and strategically important operational assets.
• Oversee safety, operational performance, environmental stewardship, financial outcomes, and long-term success of a complex, highly regulated infrastructure asset.
• Lead a team of approximately 35 employees and multiple contractors, driving operational excellence and a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
• Collaborate with engineering, environmental management, health and safety, finance, maintenance, and community engagement to deliver outstanding outcomes.
