Job summary

Te Papa Tongarewa seeks an Internal Communications Lead to elevate the organisation's internal communications. You will work with the Chief Executive and senior leaders to deliver clear, aligned messaging and to connect Te Papa's people with organisational priorities through strategies and channels.

You will also manage reputational risk, coordinate external communications in time-critical or crisis situations, and build strong media relationships to support organisational goals.

Qualifications

• Extensive internal communications experience in medium-sized organisations.
• Experience managing sensitive external communications, including crisis situations.
• Ability to translate complex information for broad audiences.
• Experience coaching leaders on communications aligned with priorities.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Knowledge of tikanga Māori, te reo Māori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence senior leaders.
