Job summary

Te Rūnanga o Waihao seeks an exceptional Manahautū – General Manager to lead strategy, oversee operations, and work with the Board and whānau to turn vision into action. Based full-time in Waimate, you will drive priorities, governance processes, budgets and compliance, ensuring alignment with cultural values and long-term aspirations.

You will report to the Incorporated Society Board, lead a small team, and be a visible, credible presence for whānau, Marae, partners and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale strategic programs and governance
• Proven ability to translate strategy into operational plans
• Strong stakeholder management with boards, partners and whānau
• Capability to manage budgets, reporting and compliance
• Excellent communication across diverse audiences

Responsibilities

• Lead the Rūnanga’s strategy and implementation across the organisation
• Direct day-to-day operations and manage a small team
• Oversee financial oversight, budgeting and compliance
• Prepare board papers and provide trusted strategic advice
