Job summary

NZ Transport Agency (Waka Kotahi) is seeking a Principal Enterprise Architect – Corporate to partner with senior leaders and translate strategy into enterprise targets, roadmaps and clear strategic advice. This business-led role looks upstream of delivery to shape capabilities, influence investment and enable long-term decision making through governance, standards and guardrails.

You will collaborate across Commercial & Corporate and People & Safety to ensure enterprise architecture supports

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in enterprise architecture, business architecture or strategic advisory roles.
• Strong business capability modelling and enterprise planning experience.
• Ability to translate business strategy into clear enterprise direction.
• Experience influencing executives and senior decision-makers.
• An understanding of investment planning, governance and organisational priorities.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to simplify complexity and provide clear, actionable advice.
• A collaborative approach that builds alignment across business, architecture, digital and delivery communities.

• Ensure business and Digital engage early enough to understand opportunities, constraints and enterprise implications before investment and delivery pathways are established.
• Identify and help resolve cross-organisational dependencies to support coherent enterprise outcomes.
