Beca Limited in Christchurch is seeking an experienced stormwater-focused civil engineer to join our Southern Water team. You will work on projects across catchment planning, options assessment, detailed design and construction management for clients across Canterbury and New Zealand.

Qualifications

• Proven consultancy experience delivering stormwater solutions across varied sectors.
• Ownership of your work, consistently delivering on time and within budget.
• Strong client relationships built on understanding and trusted results.
• A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a diverse team.
• Familiarity with NZ standards and codes of practice (e.g. TP10, NZS 4404, MfE guidelines).
• Chartered status preferred or working towards chartership.
• A relevant tertiary qualification.
• Project management or site experience would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver stormwater solutions across varied sectors through consultancy projects.
• Lead catchment planning, options assessment, detailed design and construction management.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships with clear communication and trusted outcomes.
• Collaborate with a team of stormwater and water resources specialists in a fast-paced environment.
• Apply NZ standards and codes of practice to all solutions and designs.

Our clients span Canterbury and wider New Zealand, across local government, transportation, industrial, commercial, and agricultural sectors.
