A leading coal mining company in Westport is looking for a Stores Person to support the maintenance team. Your role will involve managing parts inventory and ensuring that tradespeople have the required equipment. Candidates should possess good numeracy, customer service skills, and a full New Zealand driver's license. This position offers market-leading pay and excellent benefits. Bathurst Resources is New Zealand's largest coal-specialist mining company. We produce over 2.2 million tonnes of coal each year and employ over 550 people. The Stockton Opencast Mine is located close to the coast on a plateau in the Buller coalfield, 35 km north of Westport. This is one of New Zealand’s largest mines with a long history of coal production and produces high value coal for export to the world’s leading steel makers.

The Stores Person is based in our Fixed Plant maintenance team, providing support to our fixed plant and mobile plant workshops. You’ll be responsible for making sure our tradespeople have the right equipment and parts to keep our fixed plant and heavy mobile plant running smoothly and safely.
You’ll have good numeracy skills and an ability to keep track of stock levels and maintain our parts inventory. Computer literacy is also a must, as our digital systems are vital to our maintenance schedule.
The Stores Person will also have strong customer service skills, someone who prides themselves on keeping their work area tidy and be a self-starter who is always looking for improvements.
