Overview

McIntosh Orchard is a family-run orchard established in 1881 that has delighted customers with our exceptional fruit for many years. We are based in Earnscleugh, Alexandra, which has amazing views of the entire basin, and is only an hour's drive to Queenstown and Wanaka. We are seeking Stonefruit Thinners for the upcoming 2025/26 Stonefruit Season. This would be perfect for those wanting a taste of an outdoor horticulture experience.

About the Job

As a Stonefruit Thinner, you will be hands-on, removing fruitlets to ensure the production of high-quality fruit. Thinning will go from the 10th of November for 4 weeks, working 5/6-day weeks.

Skills and Requirements
  • Physically fit for shifting ladders, at heights, and above-the-head work
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ladder confident
  • Can focus and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivated by smashing the daily goal set for the thinning team!
  • A Positive team player in a multicultural environment
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Comfortable working in the wind or heat of the day

Any relevant experience in fruit thinning will be ideal, but on-site training happens at the start of the season.
