Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Tauranga (Bay of Plenty) is seeking a Sterilising Technician to clean, disinfect, sterilise and prepare medical instruments used throughout the hospital. The role is a permanent full-time position (1 FTE) with a 40-hour week.

We welcome applicants with or without prior sterilising experience and will support the NZSSA Sterilising Certificate Level 4 training for those new to the field. Relocation guidance and Bay of Plenty living information available.

Qualifications

• We welcome applicants with or without prior sterilising experience.
• Be prepared to undertake 1 year training to complete NZ Certificate in Sterilising Technology Level 4.
• Permanent full-time position (1 FTE) and 40 hours per week.
• NZSSA Sterilising Certificate Level 4 training available on the job.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, sterilise and prepare medical instruments and equipment used hospital-wide.
• Ensure instruments are ready for use following sterilisation protocols.
• Maintain high attention to safety, quality and infection control standards.
