Job summary

Tekapo Star Gazing seeks an enthusiastic Stargazing Guide to join our team in Lake Tekapo, New Zealand. You will entertain guests during night tours using telescopes, lasers and VR, ensuring safety and an unforgettable experience under one of the world’s most spectacular skies.

Minimum 2 years in hospitality or related field, with evenings/weekends work, and English fluency required. Training and progression opportunities are offered in astronomy and guiding.

Qualifications

• At least 2-year work experience in hospitality, preferably in tour guiding; or a tertiary qualification in hospitality, culture communication, or similar may substitute.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Must be comfortable addressing groups (up to approx. 40 guests).
• Photography knowledge in astrophotography and related technologies.
• Natural entertainer with great people skills and commitment to ensuring a unique and unforgettable guest experience.
• A high level of fluency in English and ideally a second language.

Tekapo Star Gazing is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Stargazing Guide to join our team in the heart of the world-renowned Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve.ekapo Star Gazing is seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Stargazing Guide to join our team in the heart of the world-renowned Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve.

Our unique star gazing tours focus on ensuring our guests feel like they are the only people in the universe experiencing the amazing night sky. Our guides use a mixture of state-of-the-art telescopes, lasers and virtual reality to enhance the guest experience followed by a relaxing soak in our hot pools.

We are looking for an amazing Stargazing Tour Guide to join our team located in Lake Tekapo, Canterbury in New Zealand. This is a permanent full-time role, with minimum 30 hours per week.

We are looking for a keen learner with a passion for astronomy who can remain focused and cares about keeping people safe and entertained. This person would join our existing team of Stargazing Guides entertaining customers during the night.
