Job summary

Health New Zealand's Outpatient Physiotherapy Respiratory team across North Shore and Waitākere Hospitals is seeking a Respiratory Physiotherapist for full-time work (40 hours/week).

You will assess and treat complex respiratory patients, run pulmonary rehab classes, support junior staff, and contribute to service development within a collaborative multidisciplinary setting. NZ Physiotherapy Board registration and Annual Practising Certificate are required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years' outpatient respiratory physiotherapy experience.
  • Advanced clinical assessment and management of complex respiratory conditions.
  • Registration with NZ Physiotherapy Board and current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Strong communication, time management and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment and treatment of complex respiratory patients, including chronic presentations
  • Delivering evidence-based, patient and whānau-centred physiotherapy care
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Respiratory physiotherapist to join our outpatient team across Waitemata.

About the role

This role will involve the assessment and treatment of complex respiratory patients; leading and contributing to our in-house/community based pulmonary rehab group classes and supporting new initiatives and better ways of working; supporting rotational/junior staff members and students; and build strong working relationships with our inpatient respiratory team members.

You’ll work alongside experienced physiotherapists within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment while developing clinical reasoning and management skills for complex patients across the hospital system. About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of two years' experience in respiratory physiotherapy within an outpatient setting
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical assessment and management skills for complex respiratory conditions, including chronic presentations
  • Registration with the Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environmentStrong organisational, problem-solving, and time-management skills
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and reliable approach to practice
  • Experience facilitating interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Working at Health New Zealand
