Join our dynamic team in New Zealand testing and certifying the next-gen energy technologies and help drive a sustainable future!

About The Role

The SST Product Innovation Team, part of the Office of the CTO, develops the next generation of Enphase power systems. We are seeking a Compliance Lead to drive the compliance and certification strategy for our innovative medium-voltage Solid-State Transformer (SST) products.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of a new technology category where standards are still evolving. You'll help shape compliance strategies, lead certification efforts, influence industry standards, and ensure our products meet global regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Navigate gaps, overlaps, and ambiguities across evolving standards and regulations.

  • Lead certification programs with testing and certification bodies such as UL, Intertek, CSA, and TÜV.

  • Partner with engineering teams to integrate compliance requirements early in the design process.

  • Drive pre-compliance and validation testing to reduce certification risk.

  • Build and maintain technical compliance documentation and knowledge repositories.

  • Represent Enphase in industry standards organizations, including IEEE, UL, IEC, and OCP, helping shape future regulations.

About you

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in product compliance, certification, testing, or development of complex electrical or electronic products.

  • Proven experience leading certification programs with NRTLs or certification agencies.

  • Strong understanding of medium-voltage power electronics, safety, and grid interconnection standards.

  • Ability to interpret technical standards and understand the engineering rationale behind requirements.

  • Experience working in ambiguous or emerging regulatory environments.

  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working for or closely with certification bodies such as UL, Intertek, CSA, or TÜV.

  • Participation in standards committees (IEEE, UL, IEC, OCP, NEMA).

  • Experience with grid code compliance, utility interconnection, or medium-voltage equipment.

  • Knowledge of international certifications including CE and UKCA.

  • Familiarity with functional safety, arc-flash, and data center power infrastructure standards.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary, quarterly bonuses, and stock options

  • Annual merit reviews

  • Medical insurance for you and your immediate family

  • Career growth and development opportunities in a fast-paced environment

  • Access to well-equipped laboratories and cutting-edge technology
