A New Zealand educational agency is seeking a Speech Language Therapist to join the Learning Support team in Rotorua. About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

We are offering both permanent and fixed-term (ending June 2026) positions. Permanent positions are limited to Rotorua and Taupō offices; fixed-term offers flexibility in location. As a Speech Language Therapist, you will play a critical role in our region’s Learning Support team.

  • Understanding the impact of children and young people’s communication needs in the context of their home, education setting and community.
  • Working closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other specialists to support the development of speech, language and communication skills.
  • Working holistically as part of a trans-disciplinary team where a child’s needs are complex.

Salary range: $69,966 - $106,016 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary reflecting individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake

To be successful you will need:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Therapy or an equivalent that meets the requirements of the New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists’ Association
  • Specialist knowledge of theory, research and practice related to speech-language, child development, learning and behaviour
  • Ability to translate specialist knowledge into practical information
  • Ability to coordinate service provision in a multi-agency, trans-disciplinary setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with children, young people, families and teachers across diverse settings
  • Understanding and application of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga
  • Ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct
