Overview

Permanent roles in the Christchurch Office. We are offering permanent roles in Christchurch, New Zealand. As a Speech Language Therapist, you will play a critical role in our region’s Learning Support team by understanding the impact of children and young people’s communication needs in the context of their home, education setting and community.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and address the impact of children and young people’s communication needs in home, education, and community contexts.
  • Work closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other specialists to support the development of speech, language and communication skills.
  • Collaborate holistically as part of a trans-disciplinary team to support children with complex needs.
Salary

Salary range: $69,966 - $106,016 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Therapy or an equivalent qualification meeting the requirements of the New Zealand Speech-Language Therapists’ Association.
  • Specialist knowledge of theory, research and practice related to speech-language development, learning and behaviour.
  • Ability to translate specialist knowledge into practical information.
  • Ability to coordinate service provision in a multi-agency, trans-disciplinary setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with children, young people, families and teachers across diverse settings.
  • Understanding and application of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.
  • Ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
