Specialist Test Automation Engineer

Permanent opportunity

Location: Auckland CBD (Hybrid working)

We are seeking a skilled Automation Test Engineer who thrives on building robust frameworks, solving complex automation challenges, and guiding teams.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to shape automation practices across multiple teams and make a direct impact on software quality.

This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain high-quality software standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining automated test suites for new and legacy systems.
• Proactively monitoring, investigating, and resolving test failures to ensure reliability.
• Enhancing and maintaining existing automation frameworks and processes.
• Collaborating with developers, testers, and architects to identify gaps and improve testability.
• Mentoring and training engineering teams in automation best practices

Skills & Experience Required

• Knowledge of automation testing and experience implementing automation strategies.
• Proficiency in C# and .NET.
• Proven experience in Playwright.
• Strong background in automation for web, APIs, and legacy systems.
• Experience with SQL for data validation.
• Solid experience with source control, CI/CD, and modern testing methodologies.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work at pace, manage multiple tasks effectively, and be well-organized.
• Self-sufficient, proactive, and confident in raising concerns when necessary.

Desirable

• Experience in financial services, risk & compliance, or AML projects is a plus but not essential.
