Ebisu serves up contemporary Japanese fare in a gloriously moody space right on Auckland’s waterfront in an historic building in Auckland’s Britomart precinct. A mixture of booths and tables are perfect for big groups or intimate gatherings. The menu draws together classic Japanese and European techniques - a mix of new-style sushi and sashimi as well as traditional Japanese dishes enlivened with unexpected twists. We have an extensive sake menu, Japan-inspired cocktails and a range of local, Japanese and imported beers.
We have an opportunity for experienced industry professionals to step into the role of Sous Chef! Ideally you will have at least 2+ years experience in a comparable role within the hospitality industry, ideally within an upmarket, high volume venue, and experience in Japanese or Asian Fusion cuisine. You will have effective team management experience including the ability to train and mentor your team. You will have the capability to maintain high food standards, experience in managing and monitoring financial budgets and food and labour costs, and the flexibility to work across a 7 day roster, including late evenings, weekends and public holidays.
