Job summary

Health New Zealand Waitematā invites applications from qualified Sonographers to join our Radiology team across Waitākere and North Shore Hospitals. Permanent part-time and full-time opportunities with negotiable hours are available.

  • Vascular experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general, obstetric, vascular and paediatric ultrasound examinations as part of the radiology team.
  • Contribute to teaching and knowledge sharing within the imaging department.
  • Work across Waitākere Hospital and North Shore Hospital to support service delivery.

About the Role

We have an opportunity for a qualified Sonographer to join our Radiology team, based across Waitākere Hospital (271 Beds) and North Shore Hospital (631 Beds). Te Whatu Ora, Waitematā District serves an ever-growing population of over 640,000 people, throughout the communities in the western and northern regions of Auckland. We have permanent part time and full time opportunities available.

One of the attractions is the opportunity to work as part of a dynamic imaging team. These busy ultrasound departments will offer you work that will be varied and interesting including general, obstetrics, paediatric, vascular and some musculoskeletal examinations.

As these are training hospitals, you will be able to broaden your knowledge and experience and further develop your career whilst making a valued contribution to the teaching of others.

In addition to the interesting and varied range of examinations and pathologies, you will be able to extend your knowledge through teaching and there are opportunities for career development.

We also offer 7 days of paid educational leave each year, fully funded conference attendance, reimbursement of registration and membership body fees and a free gym membership.

About You

We are seeking a Sonographer with a passion for teaching, learning, and working in a team environment. General and obstetric experience is essential, and preferably vascular experience too. You will require qualifications that are recognised by the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board and must hold a current annual practicing certificate.
