Job summary

Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora - Southern in Whakatāne, Bay of Plenty, seeks a fixed-term, full-time Sonographer for our Radiology department. Join a busy team and provide high-quality ultrasound services across acute, obstetric, vascular and community referrals with strong patient care.

NZ Registration as Medical Imaging Technologist with a recognised sonography qualification is essential, along with a Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• NZ Registration as Medical Imaging Technologist with a sonography qualification recognised by the MRB.
• Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent in DMU is required.
• Experience or skills in vascular and musculoskeletal ultrasound preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform sonography with high scanning quality and good time management in a busy department.
• Work with Radiologists and Sonographers to support acute, obstetric, vascular and community referrals.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and patient-centred care.

About the Role

Our Radiology department is seeking a fixed term, full time Sonographer with excellent scanning and time management skills to join our busy team. Located within the hospital, our referrals include acute examinations (inpatient/ED), obstetric, vascular and community referrals.You will be supported by a team of qualified Radiologists and Sonographers.

We are looking for a Sonographer with excellent communication skills, a high standard of patient care, enthusiasm and the ability to work efficiently in our busy department.

This is a fixed term position for 12 months, working 40 hours per week.

About You

NZ Registration as a Medical Imaging Technologist with a sonography qualification recognised by the Medical Radiation Technologists Board is essential.

• General DMU/Post Graduate Diploma or equivalent
• Ideally skilled in areas such as vascular, musculo-skeletal ultrasound
• Proactive, efficiency while working
• Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
