Job summary

Systematic in Wellington, New Zealand, seeks a Solution Engineer to join the Defence Services team delivering C2 software and IT solutions for mission-critical operations. This hands-on role covers deployment, integration, testing, and ongoing support, working between the Wellington CBD office and customer sites such as Upper Hutt.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure and platforms such as Windows, Linux, Android-based OS, Active Directory, database management systems, XMPP chat.
  • Experience in software development technologies e.g. Java, C#, JavaScript.
  • Experience in deploying software applications into cloud-based and on-premises environments.
  • Experience with containerised workloads (Docker, Kubernetes and Rancher).
  • Experience using Agile tools such as Jira to enhance delivery transparency and team co-ordination.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, and Puppet.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.
  • Knowledge of administration and operation of military command information systems, tactical radio devices and radio networks, and ITIL (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Managing software installation, configuration and support in the customer’s C4I environments for tests, training, exercises and actual operations.
  • Managing setup and testing of integrations between C4I software products and coalition systems, sensors, effectors and communication systems.
  • Designing, implementing and supporting technical solutions.
  • Ensuring alignment, effective communication and coordination between stakeholders.
  • Developing and delivering technical training to customers, administrators and users.
  • Providing level 1 and 2 support to customers on C4I software products, installation, integration with other software and equipment, and to end-users.
  • Keeping up to date with C2 software product roadmaps to maximise value for customers.
  • Providing support to ensure projects are delivered within the agreed scope and on time.

Solution Engineer for mission‑critical software, Wellington, New Zealand. Join our Defence Services team in Wellington as a customer‑facing engineer delivering tactical communications systems and IT solutions. You’ll work across multiple technical disciplines in an agile environment, helping implement mission‑critical solutions for Defence customers.

At Systematic, our mission is to deliver IT solutions that make it simpler for users to make crucial decisions in demanding situations. We deliver world‑leading command‑and‑control (C2) applications for managing complex operations within defence and security. Our C4I software solutions are in service with more than 50 countries worldwide, with our software being operationally proven.

You will be part of our Defence Services organisation and work between our Wellington CBD office and the customer site in Upper Hutt. You will join a small team of customer‑focused technical experts within a global, market‑leading organisation, working to implement our C2 software to support critical decision‑making in operational defence environments.

This is a hands‑on technical delivery role with a strong focus on deploying, integrating, configuring, testing and supporting our solutions, while contributing to continuous improvement. You’ll work hands‑on with modern, secure technical environments and configurations; performing development, testing, integration, and maintenance to keep our customer environments running. We invest heavily in training, so you’ll be fully supported from day one.

Expect around 10 days of domestic travel per year, plus a trip to our headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark as part of your onboarding.
