Fixed Term Full Time until 31 August 2029

Wellington

Te Haeata/The Opportunity

Join the Digital Te Au Reka team and help shape the future of justice services in Aotearoa New Zealand.

As a Solution Architect, you will play a key role in the ongoing evolution of Te Au Reka, one of the Ministry's largest digital transformation programmes. Working within the Digital Design Team, you will be responsible for the solution architecture of the future service, working closely with our vendors as we develop the future state for the upcoming phases. This role will also support the go live activities for Phase 1.

You will work alongside programme Solution Architects, delivery teams, vendors and business stakeholders to ensure every release transitions smoothly into production. You will also help guide the coexistence of Te Au Reka and the current case management system (CMS), ensuring architecture decisions support both today's operational needs and tomorrow's direction.

This is an opportunity to influence architecture beyond project delivery, helping bridge change and operations while supporting a service that will transform how justice is delivered across Aotearoa.

In this role, you will:
  • Develop and evolve solution architectures that support the ongoing operation of Te Au Reka.
  • Partner with programme architects and delivery teams to ensure successful design for the platform.
  • Provide architectural leadership across application development, operational improvement, co-existence and future releases.
  • Ensure alignment between Te Au Reka and existing platforms throughout the coexistence period.
  • Build trusted relationships with business stakeholders, vendors and technical teams to deliver sustainable outcomes.
