Overview

We’re looking for an experienced Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in a strategic initiative transforming employee experience.

This programme involves the implementation of Workday alongside a suite of supplementary solutions.

In this role, you’ll design and guide solutions that enable seamless data and process flows between Workday and other systems, driving end-to-end automation for Learning, Performance and Talent Management.

You will also support my clients' wider technology modernisation strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture engagement and oversight, ensuring alignment with my banking clients' enterprise data strategy.
• Design and maintain data models to support processes and reporting.
• Work closely with the Enterprise Architect to ensure alignment with target state architecture, adoption of standards, and effective stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with delivery teams to consolidate fragmented data and enable consistent enterprise-wide validation.
• Provide architectural leadership across integration patterns, APIs, event-driven design and data lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support future-state data capture and reporting needs.
• Maintain solution documentation and promote platform simplification.
• Facilitate governance processes and enable respective solutions.

Essential

• Proven experience in solution and/or data architecture with people/employee-related systems.
• Background in large-scale data or platform transformation programmes.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, integration patterns, and enterprise architecture principles.
• Familiarity with HCM, payroll, and LMS systems.
• Experience working with vendors and cross-functional teams in complex environments.
• Ability to design and implement solutions in API-first, event-driven architectures.

Desirable

• Experience with Kafka, Snowflake, Airflow, Spring Boot.
• Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud environments.
• Understanding of Agile delivery practices (Scrum, Kanban).
• Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security frameworks.
• Tertiary qualification in a data, technology, or business-related discipline.
• Industry certification in Data Architecture, Solution Architecture, or Data Management.
