The Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity for an up-and-coming junior to intermediate litigator with construction, property, infrastructure or general litigation experience to join our highly regarded construction disputes team in Auckland, led by award-winning partners, Janine Stewart, Scott Thompson Matthew Ferrier, and Stephen Price, some of the most experienced and respected practitioners in this field in New Zealand.

You will work with and learn from seasoned industry professionals on complex, high-value High Court construction litigation, including product defect and defective building claims, for an impressive and diverse client base. The team also delivers strategic project advice and dispute resolution services, including arbitrations under the Construction Contracts Act. You will work closely with all members of the team and enjoy meaningful client contact from the outset.

About You

• Intellectually curious, commercially astute, and driven to excel
• Admitted in New Zealand with 2-5 years of litigation experience
• Experienced in, or passionate about, construction law
• Demonstrated ability to support seniors on complex litigation files with a high degree of initiative and autonomy
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills with meticulous attention to detail
• The ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues alike
• A genuine team player who thrives in a collaborative, high-performance environment
